Science for thriving ecosystems.

I specialize in biodiversity monitoring and the study of human–nature interactions, investigating how species communities respond to land use and environmental change across temperate and tropical ecosystems.

An ecologist navigating data and complexity in nature conservation.

I'm a community ecologist currently affialiated at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where my research investigates how land-use intensification reshapes invertebrate communties in lowland peat areas. Beyond temparate landscapes, I'm contributing to long-term biodiversity monitoring in Costa Rica's Tortuguero Conservation Area.

My work sits at the intersection of field ecology, data science, and applied conservation, with broader interests spanning ecosystem resilience, human–nature interactions, and disease ecology. I bring a strong toolkit in data analysis, statistical modelling, and reproducible workflows.

Working together

Available for selected freelance work.

I take on a small number of consulting and analytical projects each year — bringing scientific rigour, careful methodology, and clear communication to applied ecological questions.

01

Ecological consultancy

Survey design, biodiversity assessments, and applied research for NGOs, agencies, and land managers.

02

Data science & analytics

Statistical modelling, multivariate analysis, and end-to-end pipelines in R and Python.

03

Scientific communication

Translating complex ecological data into reports, visualisations, and publication-ready figures.

Contact

Let's correspond.

For research collaborations, consulting enquiries, or media — I’m always glad to hear from fellow ecologists, organisations, and curious minds.
